Procurement Officer

 

Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, to be successful in this new role, your current career background should be clearly identifiable towards your ability in :

  • Maintaining and building supplier relationships. A proven experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment is well regarded and preferred, but not essential.
  • Categorising suppliers based on business requirements on price & quality.
  • Managing supplier review structures, negotiating prices, payment terms and setting up price review methodology in conjunction with Company strategies.
  • Ensuring maintenance of stock levels and reviewing the ranges in every category in each division on an annual basis.
  • Maintaining ongoing professional and helpful dialogue between suppliers and buying staff.
  • Managing existing sourcing arrangements as well as seeking to continually improve and source new suppliers.
  • Monitoring and analysing trends in company spending / inventory control in order to make future recommendations to identify areas for possible savings.

 

To therefore be considered for this exciting new opportunity, we are now seeking to hear from applicants who possess:

  • A proven track record in food manufacturing, foodservice or FMCG purchasing, delivering value to the business through experience, coupled with implementing new strategies.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and be both energetic and engaging with a strong commercial focus.
  • A strong discipline in daily managing and sustaining processed and KPI reporting, with experience in site storage and warehousing systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, good planning and effective analytical skills are with the ability to work on all levels including liaising with Senior Managers and team members.
  • A high degree of competency in negotiation, supply chain operations & contract management, as well as an in depth understanding of business processes.
  • An interest and ability to embrace innovation and new ways of doing things. You will possess intermediate Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Adoption of technology is a strong focus for the business.
  • The ability to work autonomously, but also work closely within the Procurement team to reach overall goals.

 

As the Edlyn site is based in the northern suburbs with no immediate access to public transport close and available, access to your own transport for the daily commute to the site, will also be highly beneficial (with plenty of free on-site parking available). Finance Officer

 

  • 6 month fixed-term tenure – potential for ongoing employment
  • Starting ASAP – full-time working hours / entitlements

An excellent opportunity now exists for a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to join Edlyn’s business, to work directly with the Finance & Executive team in managing a wide variety of finance, accounting & business related tasks for the business.

 

This role will commence immediately and will be available for a 6 month fixed term period, carrying the potential for ongoing employment beyond this term. To be successful in this role, your current career background should be clearly identifiable towards the following:

 

  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Processing payments, imputing cheques and all electronic payments to debtors accounts consistent with organisational policy and procedures.
    • Investigating, following up and processing of outstanding claims, credit notes and overdue invoices
    • Maintain accurate records of outstanding debtors and provide regular reports for review and follow up.
  • Rebates/Payroll Admin/Other Accounting and Finance work:
    • Calculation and processing of rebate accruals and claims including collating and checking and entering of rebate claims, maintaining the list of outstanding rebates and the maintenance of a rebate module.
    • Assisting Payroll in administering of payroll paperwork and other payroll requirements.
    • Assisting Accountants in month-end, reporting, journals, analysis etc
    • Assisting Accounts Payable if required
    • Any other finance activities as required.

This unique role will require an applicant with a broad range of skills, ideally coming with a proven track record gained from working within a similar type of role within the manufacturing industry. To be considered for this opportunity, we are seeking to hear from applicants who therefore possess (or possess a range/mix of the following):

  • Accounting degree preferred with a minimum 3 years commercial experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Account Payable and/or both required.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and be both energetic and engaging with a strong commercial focus.
  • Ability to work in a team, displaying a positive attitude whilst under pressure.
  • Proven attention to detail in processing high volume of data with demonstrated attitude and thoroughness of work standards.
  • Analytical with preferably a strong understanding of finance/business standards and statutory requirements.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, using initiative and taking responsibility in completing tasks.
  • Strong experience with mainstream ERP systems, Excel and other software packages. Advanced competency in MS office packages.
  • Excellent administrative and time management skills as you will be working on multiple projects at one time.

A proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Foodservice or Food industry experience is well regarded and preferred, but not essential. We are looking for an individual that above everything can demonstrate proven commercial finance/accounting/business analytical administration ability and an eagerness to learn.
