The Member for Ripon, Martha Haylett, visited our Maryborough facility as part of her commitment to connect with local businesses and better understand the opportunities and challenges across the region.
During her visit, Martha learned about the exciting developments underway at Edlyn. Over the next 12 to 18 months, our Maryborough site is preparing to double production — growing from 5,200 tonnes annually to more than 10,000 tonnes. This expansion will create new employment opportunities and deliver even greater capability to our national foodservice customers.
Supporting this growth, we have recently invested $500,000 in new machinery, including upgrades to our Blender 2 operations. These improvements have lifted efficiency by 38%, reduced manual handling by up to 80%, and enhanced safety for our team.
From humble beginnings 10 years ago with just 10 employees, our Maryborough site now employs 30 across day and afternoon shifts. It has become a hub for bakery and dessert products including cake mixes, muffin mixes, gravies, mousse, jellies, and more — all distributed to hospitality professionals nationwide.
