Classic Bangers & Mash with Gravy

Peel potatoes and place in a pot of salted water, bring to the boil and cook until tender

Finely slice the onions and sauté in butter until golden brown, add sugar and cook out for a further 5 minutes on a medium heat until nicely caramelised

Combine gravy mix with cold water and mix until free from lumps, pour over onions and bring to a boil, stir constantly, once boiled, reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stir occasionally

On a hot grill or pan cook sausages, turning to get a rich colour all around, set aside

Mash potatoes and fold in butter and cream, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg
6.
To serve place mash in center of plate, top with 2 sausages, pour over onion gravy.
