Edlyn Foods and True Foods have formed a partnership to keep local jobs, despite the seasonal downturns.
Currently, four casual True Foods staff members are employed at Edlyn Foods as part of a joint venture to maintain employment for locals during off-peak periods.
“We have 40 casual employees who are trained in food safety, hazard analysis and critical control point training and work safe practices who are looking for work during our quiet periods,” True Foods production manager Geoff Pollock said.
“Because we’re both seasonal manufacturers, if we have excess staff, like we do now as True Foods is going through a seasonal downturn at the moment, and Edlyn need employers, we can share staff during those periods.
“This also means that both companies will be able to utilise workers who are trained and reliable.”.
