The Edlyn Maryborough production facility has been providing local disability residents with opportunities within specific areas of the business to help integrate them into everyday employment.
Asteria Services, a local Maryborough based not-for-profit organisation works closely with Edlyn to provide local disabled residents an opportunity to work in the business.
With a very strong community focus, Asteria Services core goal is to develop and deliver services, accommodation, employment, education, training and life options to local disabled residents. Asteria Services prides itself on providing tailored support and services to those with a disability and partners with local council and employers to ensure they have an array of opportunities to offer their clients.
Edlyn’s Maryborough production facility currently employs 7 residents through Asteria Services employment program. These residents work closely within Edlyn’s cleaning, labelling and gardening/maintenance areas. One of the Asteria Services employees Eddie is responsible for applying labels to various products within our dry blends facility.
Other employees Serena, Ross and Sheryl do a fantastic job of cleaning the different operational areas of the Maryborough facility, while the remaining employees are tasked with mowing, mulching, weeding and general tidying up of the facility keeping it clean, tidy and looking fantastic at all times.
Edlyn are extremely pleased to be able to work with Asteria Services and provide employment opportunities to local Maryborough residents and are excited to continue our partnership into the future.
